The bald, and the “belly-full”
I seriously ate a lot today… it was my colleague’s birthday so everyone went to Crystal Jade Kitchen at Holland Village for lunch… although a table was reserved, still had to queue for seats. Anyway, there were about 8 of us, and ordered a lot of stuff… since I’m kinda bored now, shall attempt to recall the entire order of dim sum.
(number refers to number of plates/”long”) Steamed “harkau” x 4, siew mai x 2, char sha bao x 2, glutinous rice x 1, pai gu x 1, fried beancurd wrapped prawn x 3, chee cheong fun x 3, yam puff x 2, char siu pastry x 2, vegetarian dumpling x 2, spring rolls x 2, stir fried mushrooms x 1….. hmmm… yeah that might just be about it… but can’t help thinking i might’ve missed out something…
Worked as normal during the afternoon… can’t deny felt sleepy. RN was sick, asked if wanna have dinner. Ended up at Botak Jones (Clementi)… I had the Swanky Wanky (can’t help but laugh at the name) basically the biggest sausage u can find in a kopitiam… it pretty much wrapped the hot dog bun instead of the other way…
As for RN, she asked to take a pic of her order when it arrived…
When I saw it… completely forgot what the dish is named. Didn’t even bother. But sadly… it didn’t taste as good as it looks. The beef patty was too dry, and by our standards… really wasn’t that nice. RN thought that it’d be a good idea if you could tell them the done-ness (medium rare, medium, medium-well, well-done) cos this burger was just too “well-done” (yes pun intended). Quite frankly the Botak Jones in Clementi can’t justify how good Botak Jones really is… I’ve been to the one in AMK and the beef patty was much juicier… there’s also a difference in the Cajun chicken… again the AMK branch has the better sauce which I very much prefer.
Belly-full man…
