I was just looking for reviews and I found this, you all might like to know that bestbuy is selling the g9 online only for $50 without shipping and tax, I live in los angeles and it came out to be 60$, I couldn’t refuse getting it.

I agree – if price isn’t a factor the G9 wins hands-down. But you can pick up the Sidewinder pretty cheap these days.

you make a good point because I for one, hardly listen to house music. In fact I just downloaded that garage track you put up at your site and tried listening to it on the T40. Nice work sir.

In this context, I have to agree that the bass quality wasn’t that good. In fact the speakers weren’t able to project the sound right. I had to switch my Creative SB X-Fi mode to “Audio Creation Mode” in order for it to sound a little more decent. Still not great for house. Simply means that its probably not designed for such heavy bass needed in this genre. Not to mention that you spend so much time mixing. I’d probably be a little disappointed if I were you. But I still think you got what you paid for. The sound is still great for gaming and most of the other genres of music.

I’ve personally not heard sound coming from the Creative Audigy series of cards. The SE 7.1 you mentioned is pretty high end from what I gather. Worth getting? Only if there’s a significant increment in quality over your current one. I can’t compare with the X-Fi because I’ve not heard the older one. If you want to get the Creative X-Fi card, get the Fatal1ty series and not the “half” cards. There’s another sound card called Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1. A few people in hardware forums swear by the Auzen.

Just bought these speakers. Using them over the weekend.
Iv come to the conclusion, there are great apart from the Bass which is like, about 50% down on my old Slim 500 Bass. Well actually, House music kinda lacks in the bass with these, but other music sounds great.

On too sound card though. I have a PCI Creative SB Audigy SE 7.1 Is it really worth upgrading to a X-Fi soundcard?
I use my PC for all my music & games.
